Kingsley Hotel, Cork & Queen Beauty Emporium, Dublin win top awards
Last week, Georgina Campbell’s Ireland Guide 2009 was launched together with the announcement of the winners of the 11th Annual ‘Awards for Excellence’.
The Kingsley Hotel, Cork was deservedly named Business Hotel of the Year 2009, an award it previously won in 2004.
It's rare for a corporate style hotel to embrace business and leisure customers equally but The Kingsley manages to do so, thanks in part to the success of the Yauvana Spa which is Irelands only authentic Ayurvedic Spa and which consistently gets rave feedback from customers.
At another award event across town, Queen Beauty Emporium, located just 5 minutes walk from Dublin's Grafton Street, was named Best Newcomer in the Schwarzkopf business awards. The mantra at Queen is "Love What we Do" and you'll get that vibe as soon as you walk in the door. Just one year old, the team at Queen are proving that quality hair and beauty treatments can come with a smile. Book yourself a pre-Christmas hair and make-up session now before it gets so busy you have to beg to get an appointment.

Fitness for Life Programmes - 20th November 2008 & 29th January 2009
At Spa Ireland, we know that for our customers, spa time is a slice of luxury enjoyed in an otherwise hectic schedule. We also know that general health and wellbeing is highly valued, which is why we are very pleased to introduce our first non-spa hotel which offers a serious health & wellness proposition. And it is not just any hotel - this is Harvey's Point, winner of the AA Hotel of the Year 2007.
With guestrooms the size of apartments and breath-taking Donegal views, Harvey's Point Fitness for Life Programme is certain to appeal to the over-stressed amongst us. Led by Enda Coyle, personal fitness trainer to An Tanaiste Mary Couglan, this 3 day programme promises to be an education in wellbeing of the body, mind and soul. Expect sound advice from Enda who will devise personal plans targeting specific health needs and a range of activities in a setting that will take your breath away.
The first of 2 up and coming Fitness for Life weekend breaks begins on the 20th November and costs €595 per person sharing. The second weekend is scheduled for 29th January, so the perfect opportunity to keep that fitness resolution for 2009. The spanking new swimming pool at Harveys Point is set to be ready in 6 weeks, just in time for the Fitness for Life Programmes.
