A guide to spa sense

Staying in a spa property for the first time or trying out spa treatments can be a little daunting; we've all been there. Here are some tips we've learnt along the way, which we hope will make your stay even more relaxing.


All spa properties we feature offer healthy and nutritious meals though some focus to a greater or lesser extent on special dietary needs. If your main goal is weight loss, make sure your chosen spa can cater for this and take some time on arrival to speak with either the spa manager or even the chef –they often love the challenge of helping you get into a healthy eating routine.

Medical conditions

Do mention if you have any type of medical condition when you book an appointment as some treatments may not be suitable for you.

Mobile phones

The best piece of advice you can take when going on a spa break - leave phones and blackberries at home or in your room. They will distract you and take away from your “escape”.
